Question:

What kind of chile is this?

Rubel M.

Answer:

I enjoy reading your articles. I have made several fruitless attempts to learn about a certain species of pepper plants, and I thought I'd ask your assistance.

I would like to know what type of pepper plants produce the chile peppers found in the "Hot Chile Pepper" jars such as those sold by Del Monte and Mezzetta. I think they are some type of hot wax pepper, but I am having a difficulty finding peppers with the same size specification as the peppers in those products.

I'd sure appreciate it if you can help me determine that type of pepper and where I can obtain plants or seeds for those plants.
